80kg Kettlebell Flip
A goal accomplished! The 80kg kb flip. It's a while since I got the 80kg and also been some time since I've done any kettlebell flipping and this has been a goal so I went out and did it. The handle on this monster is not far off 2 inch thick so I guess my grip strength has improved pretty well since it's pretty tough work catching 80kg of moving metal at the bottom.

The first time I ever saw anyone flip a kettlebell as heavy as this was Valentin Dikul
I've some way to go before I have this much power and finesse, an 80kg kettlebell with a skinny handle like his and posing/training briefs like that but it's a start!

World's Heaviest Power Club
I think I got the world's nastiest club made this week. So nasty in fact it's only good for one thing and that's wrestling onto the shoulder and squatting with.
It was made to this size by accident to be truthful as the guy making it turned it 3 days sooner than he originally said before I could confirm any dimensions.
Well I decided to get it weighed in my garage and have a play with it before returning it to the workshop to get it sorted out.
It weighed in at 75kg (165lbs), oops!
Hopefully when it's shaved down some tomorrow it'll weigh around 30 kg less.
Which'll still make it bloody heavy, but good fun!!

Inspired by Mr Boar, think I went to heavy to be honest. Leg strength is piss poor having squatted once in last year. Highlights what I need to put right, bring on the strongman
Blob Lifting
Got a couple o' blobs made today, by a local engineering company.
After a heavy kettlebell session I had a crack at the big blob. It's modelled on the same dimensions as a 40lb blob but ended up being 47 lb's or 21.4 kg. Earlier today I thought it would be at least 2-3 months before I would start to shift this big lump of steel. Not so!
I think the heavy bell lifting helped me along and ended up with 2 reps each hand!
That was it though I was shot after that, couldn't even get it off the ground on my next attempt.

What's Going On?
Very busy at the moment at work which is impacting on everything, but still managing to get some training in for Sugden's Strongest man competition on March 6th
Events are:
Max axle deadlift, rising bar
Bar starts at 250kg, 3 attempts, can skip lifts but miss one and your out. Straps, suits, hitching etc all ok. Will be from normal bar height.
Strength shop Overhead medley
100kg sleeper
120kg log
130kg axel
Inch Dbell(70kg ish)
Tackle them in any order you like. Continentals ok, 2 hand clean on the inch OK. 75 sec time limit.
Southams Monster Medley
Farmers walk 140kg x 20m (will be on farmers handles like the ones jt sells)
Tyre 3 flips
Duck walk 220kg x 20m
75 sec time limit
Mad object carry for distance
Max distance over a 20m course. Object TBC. 75 sec time limit.
Arm over Arm
Will be on a fire engine over a 25m course. 75 sec time limit.
Stones
100,120,140,160,180kg stones to decreasing size platforms. 90 sec time limit.
Been training pretty hard on the fitness side of things with loads of heavy kettlebells swings, presses, double heavy swings and long long farmers walks to get accustomed to PAIN!
Having done my first ever Strongman Comp last November at the Container I realised how much Strongman draws on fitness, hence lots of running with weights and carrying things, all great fun! So with some gains from Adington Barbell Club Competition
I should not embarass myself
Also, aiming on doing a SSST before SSM2 to test my fitness
