This type of comp would be easy to set up! Anyone up for it?

I bet the comp was great, I love this stuff!
I did quite a few fitness comps and concept 2 comps in my lighter days a few years ago! The Missus is getting back into Concept 2 rowing. It's really addictive stuff! I did 6:07.5 for 2k when i was training hard.
Rob
sweet mother of mercy ! that must be elete level !! mind you , your a tall fella and determined
would love a concept 2 in the shed !!
I think I was a torture lover! Doing that is the easiest way to turn 6mins into 6 hours! i used to have a concept 2 in my old cellar but sold it after I trained and did a 100k solo row (I upset my hormones for a whole week after). I should get on it again and lose some of this unwanted man blubber!
You're still a repologist of the highest order. 53 reps DL BW is mental!!
Cheers

I was going to go to the British Indoor Rowing Championships (BIRC)last year as a lightweight but work came up and I had to travel away.
6min7s would get you into Group A with the heavyweights (i.e. James Cracknell) at the BIRC.
A friend of mine, who was in the Oxford boat club and now rows at Henley, went as a heavyweight and rowed 6min13s. I think he came about 12th.
Graham Benton won with c. 5min45s, which I think is the world record.
It sounds like you might be able to upset the applecart with a bit of dedicated training...
And who would have thought you could find your true vocation as an endurance athlete, haha :-)
All the best,
Chris.
Chris, the wife is hoping to do it this November hopefully so I said I would do it too. I never did the BIRC but did the northerns and came 3rd twice, I'll have more power this time round but a little less cardio methinks!! I think the world record is 5:37 set by some Polish fella in 2002 unless it's been broken since. Pure torture! But pure fun!
Cheers Rob
